This week, May 7-13, Nova Scotia recognized North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, as well as the 25th Anniversary of the Westray Mine Disaster.

This is North American Occupational Safety & Health (NAOSH) Week, which means it’s a busy one for safety leaders in Nova Scotia – many of whom have come together to celebrate the strides being made while also acknowledging the need for important work ahead.

Health and Safety Conference Highlights Industry Momentum

Over the past five years, Nova Scotia has seen significant progress in how we prioritize and act on workplace health and safety. Milestones include the lowest WCB injury rate ever, a substantial culture shift within the fishing industry, and a strong and strategic focus on making our health care system safer – an industry where the majority of time-lost injuries occur.
